As the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) has just started, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UN Geneva, the City of Geneva and its Natural History Museum, the Permanent Mission of Switzerland, the Canton of Geneva and the local authorities of the Greater Geneva area are joining forces for a special “Climate” cultural operation in order to raise awareness among the population of the Geneva area of the issues and solutions related to climate change and the erosion of biodiversity.
Through this “special climate” cultural operation, the driving forces of international Geneva united with local authorities invite the inhabitants of Greater Geneva, in an original and participatory way, to understand what the issues are and act: protecting the planet, our humanity and that of all living beings is everyone’s business, at the political, scientific and individual level.
The event will be held at the Pathé Balexert cinema in Geneva.
- Sami Kanaan, Administrative Councilor of the City of Geneva
- Anaïs Campion, Member of the Swiss delegation to # COP26 of the UNFCCC
- Agi Veres, Director of UNDP in Geneva
